Lesley Garrett

Doncaster born Lesley Garrett CBE is Britain’s best known soprano, regularly appearing in opera, music theatre, concert, on television and CD. For more than 30 years she has enjoyed one of the most successful and idiosyncratic careers of any modern-day, classically trained soprano, winning both critical acclaim and the affection of many fans and music lovers through the breadth and diversity of her work. Internationally Lesley has performed throughout Europe, the USA, Australia, Russia, Brazil, Japan, Malaysia, Taiwan and South Korea.

Wynne Evans

Wynne Evans is regularly singing to millions for the TV advertising campaign that has made him a household name as the spoof opera star Gio Compario. Although a spoof opera star in the Go Compare insurance adverts, Wynne Evans is a professionally trained opera singer with over 25 years’ experience, and had a debut album ‘A Song in My Heart’ that went to the Number 1 in the classical charts. Born in Carmarthen, Wales, Evans studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and the National Opera Studio.

Sophie Evans

West End star Sophie Evans is a Welsh singer and actress known for appearing in the BBC's Over The Rainbow (2010) in Andrew Lloyd Webber's search for a Dorothy, in which, out of 10,000 hopefuls, she finished as the runner-up. Sophie has performed in many shows but most recently as Glinda in Wicked on the West end. She has performed in many major venues and arenas around the world, including, the Lyric Theatre on Broadway and The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas with ‘Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance’.

The Yorkshire Symphony Orchestra

In 2021, local Skipton-based conductor Ben Crick and Leeds-based concert promoter Jamie Hudson resurrected the Yorkshire Symphony Orchestra, more than 60 years after it was disbanded, providing a “cultural voice for Yorkshire and the north of England” and re-employing professional musicians whose musical careers had been paused by the COVID-19 crisis. The new orchestra has accompanied many headline acts at a series of major outdoor concerts including a Picnic Proms featuring Alfie Boe, at Harewood House, and Lakeside Live Starring Queen Symphonic at Doncaster’s Keepmoat Stadium, amongst other engagements.
